TSS Beach Picnic at Santa Monica

Kick off the school year with the TSS Social Committee in Santa Monica! We're hosting the ultimate Beach Picnic Day — a chance to unwind with painting, Spikeball games, and connecting with new friends! We plan to meet at the Statue of Hecuba at 9 AM and will be traveling via Metro.

Santa Monica Beach Clean-up

Join TSS on a trip to Santa Monica to help tidy up the beach and have some fun this Saturday! We will spend time cleaning the beach, and set aside time for playing beach games & hanging out on the shore! Dinner will be provided.

Game Night with Poker Club!

Join TSS Social for an exciting evening of fun and games this Friday! We will have board & card games, consoles and poker for everyone to play. Food will be provided—feel free to to bring your friends! Top 3 winners will receive gift cards!

Valentine’s Cookie Gram Social

Come join TSS Social Committee for some sweet Valentine's Day activities this Saturday! We will have stations for cookie decorating, valentine notes, bag decorating, and candy. Don't forget to invite your friends, and maybe even that special someone!

Natural History Museum

Join TSS Social on a trip to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles this Saturday! Just a short walk from USC, the museum is one of the largest historical museums in the American West, and features several extensive collections exploring LA and the world. Exhibitions include Becoming Los Angeles and Dinosaur Hall. Admission is free with your USC ID, so be sure to bring it!

Gingerbread House Making Contest

For the last social of semester, TSS members built their very own gingerbread houses! The group with the best gingerbread house received prizes, including TSS merch and gift cards! TSS members also enjoyed free hot cocoa, pizza, and holiday movies.

California Science Center

TSS invites you to come join us at the California Science Center on Saturday, October 22nd from 1 - 3 PM! We will meet at the Statue of Hecuba in the Village and then walk over together.

The CA Science Center houses a myriad of exhibits, from World of Life, which examines bacteria to humans and everything in between, to Ecosystems, an exhibit housing more than 200 species of live plants and animals. This opportunity to take in the Air and Space exhibit, featuring the space shuttle Endeavor, with fellow TSS members is certainly not one to miss!

Movie Night

Members went out to TSS Movie Night and enjoyed a relaxing Friday evening! Free popcorn was provided, and members watched their voted favorite movie.

Field Day

Field Day was this year’s welcome event for all incoming and returning members! The event included a variety of activities, including volleyball and spike ball. To help beat the heat, we also provided activities like water balloons.

Dinner at Northern Cafe

Northern Cafe is a great Chinese restaurant located on Figueroa and within the free Lyft zone. TSS members met and socialized with each other while eating some good food.

Game and Pizza Night

To destress before finals hit, members joined us to play video games, play card games, and enjoy Dominos pizza. As always, members strengthened bonds, created more intimate friendships and showed off their competitive spirit.

Milk Tea Boba Social

We hosted a boba social for any members that wanted to come relax and hang out after midterm week! Members met at the Statue of Hecuba and called Fryfts to Pot of Cha.

Mission Impossible

In an exciting competition, teams (formed through preferences and randomization) completed given activities and scored as many points as they could for a chance to win some TSS merchandise. Many TSS crewnecks will be given out!

Trivia Night

Members displayed their knowledge of all things obscure and arcane and connected with other students over an evening of lively, intellectual competition!

Halloween Carnival

Members snacked on candy, designed pumpkins and wrapped a few students head to toe with toilet paper! There was a truly spooky display of artistic and creative talent and fine toilet-wrapping-ship.

Hollywood Sign Hike

TSS trekked up to the iconic Hollywood Sign! We had an awesome time outdoors, enjoying the view and bonding.

Little Tokyo Trip

We brought 20 TSS members with us to Little Tokyo as our first trip of the semester! We had a great time chatting over delicious sushi and ramen.

Baking With Andy

As we transition into our study days next week, you're going to want to prepare a good amount of treats to get you through to finals week. That's why, we brought members a baking workshop with TSS' very own faculty advisor, Andy Jones-Liang! Andy is a pro baker who guided members through the process of making the very BEST chocolate chip cookies.

End of the Year Party

Members celebrated the end of the school year together, ending the final year of classes on Zoom with a bang! We played JackBox Games, Code Names, and more. In each round, the winner received $15 (almost 2 Chipotle bowls pre-tax).

TSS Petting Zoo(m)

Members brought their pets for a Pet Show-N-Tell! Those who weren’t living with their pets brought photos to show or stories to tell. Those who didn’t have pets came along for the fun! We also gave away $100 in Giftograms!

Speed Friending: April Fools Edition

Mission Impossible!

Come join us for an exciting race-to-the-finish! Members’ mission was to complete all the given activities with their TSS Teams as quickly as possible. They scored as many points as they could for a chance to win up to $70!

PowerPoint Party

In pairs, members created and presented a funny or interesting PowerPoint to other groups for a chance to win one of four $10 gift cards! Imagine, you could buy a whole Chipotle bowl (with guac) using that money.

New Year Hangout

Members kicked-off the upcoming semester by joining us for a fun night of games! We celebrated the arrival of 2021 at our first social of the year and members got the chance to expand their friend groups and meet some of our new E-Board members.
