Kortschak center for learning and creativity

The Kortschak Center provides a broad array of services to students with learning differences. Some services include individual learning strategy sessions with an academic coach and assistive technology.

Academic exploration advising

Students who are undecided, new to USC, or experiencing academic difficulty can meet with an Academic Counselor who can help identify challenges and obstacles to academic success. Counselors work with students in transition to explore academic options while making the most of various opportunities and support resources across campus.

The Math center

The Math Center is a suite a of rooms where students can get together with friends to study, use provided computers, and get help with math classes. Math graduate students, faculty, and assistants are available to help with math assignments, Mathematica, and Matlab.

Dornsife Tutoring

Free tutoring services are available by appointment and specific to students currently registered in Biology (BISC), Chemistry (CHEM), French (FREN), Mathematics (MATH), Physics (PHYS), Psychology (PSYC), or Spanish (SPAN) classes. Students can access tutoring services for one hour per week per class.

The Writing Center

The USC Writing Center’s mission is to empower students, faculty, and staff by supporting their development of writing and critical thinking skills. The Writing Center pursues its mission through individual consultations, in-class workshops, and a large roster of handouts and instructional videos. Consultants work with writers at every skill level and every stage of the process, from interpreting an assignment to producing a final draft. All of the Writing Center’s services are free.

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program designed to improve the student's academic success and increase retention. The SI program targets traditionally difficult courses and provides regularly scheduled, peer-led study sessions. SI leaders are undergraduate students who have already successfully completed the SI class. These sessions are available to all students enrolled in the class at no cost.
